Major resurfacing work to begin around Scunthorpe’s Gallagher Retail Park

Resurfacing work is set to get underway on roads around a major Scunthorpe retail park that will involve overnight closures.

North Lincolnshire Council says the project in the Gallagher Retail Park area will begin on Sunday (October 20), and will start off with some roads being planed to make way for a new surface.

Between 6pm on Sunday and 6am on Monday, there will be traffic management in place between Gallagher Retail Park, Tesco, and the Doncaster Road/Tesco roundabout. Meanwhile, from midnight the same evening until 6am on Monday, traffic management will be in place on Jack Brownsword Way. Staff needing to leave and enter will be assisted and Tesco’s petrol station will remain open.

The work will continue a week later with a new carriageway, lines and antiskid being put in place. A total closure of the entrances to Gallagher Retail Park, Tesco and Tesco petrol station will be in place from 5pm on Sunday, October 27 until 6am on Monday, October 28. Staff needing to leave and enter these areas will be assisted.

From 6pm, traffic management will be in place from the Attis Arena to the mini roundabout on Jack Brownsword Way. Then, from midnight until 6am, there will be a full road closures on Jack Brownsword Way between Doncaster Road and the mini roundabout.

Traffic management operatives will be available to escort drivers to Travelodge and McDonald’s during these times.
