A North Lindsey College student has triumphed in a competition to create the official logo for an upcoming local careers event.
Creative Media student George Williams, 17, participated in the competition, which was open to students with an interest in media design. His entry was selected as the winner and his design will now be featured across the event’s advertisements.
He said: “It was good to find out that I’d won. We have worked on logo design in class, so we had already built some skills on this. Working on a project with an incentive encouraged me to be more creative and I’m now looking forward to seeing my work on the promotional material for the event.”
The event, aimed at inspiring local Year Nine school pupils, will be hosted at John Leggott College in February 2025 and is being held in collaboration with North Lincolnshire Council, University Campus North Lincolnshire (UCNL) and North Lindsey College.
Cllr Rob Waltham, Leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “George is a true example of the talented students at North Lindsey College, and his work highlights the strong vocational skills being developed here. Creating the winning logo for the careers event is a remarkable achievement and a testament to his skills.”
John Rees, CEO and Principal of DN Colleges Group, said: “It was great to welcome colleagues from North Lincolnshire Council to the College to celebrate and reward the talents of George.
“We were delighted to partner with the council and John Leggott College to create this opportunity for a competitive and commercial assignment. I look forward to seeing the brilliant logo on display around the area in the future and I’m sure this success will be a great asset to George as he builds his future career.”
