Thieves, violent offenders and householders failing to provide details for Council Tax – Grimsby court round-up

Thieves stealing from shops, sheds and people on the street, violent offenders assaulting emergency workers and an array of people caught breaching court orders – these are just some examples of criminals who appeared before magistrates in Grimsby last week.

Grimsby Magistrates Court also fined a number of people who failed to provide income and employment details for Council Tax purposes, and handed out prison sentences for more serious offenders.

Here are 11 offenders from across northern Lincolnshire to appear at court in Grimsby in recent days.

Emma Thompson, 35, of Hainton Avenue, Grimsby had her suspended sentence of 16 weeks in prison implemented after she admitted failing to comply with the community requirements of the order, by failing to attend a probation appointment. She was originally handed the suspended sentence order for committing fraud by selling stolen items, stealing a mobile phone, computer monitor, a vacuum cleaner and other items, and for failing to surrender to custody.

Simmone Proud, 37, of Freeman Street, Grimsby admitted breaching the requirements of a community order by failing to attend rehabilitation activity requirement appointments. She was originally handed the community order for the assault of an emergency worker, the theft of alcohol, shavers and soft drinks worth £184 from Tesco, using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, assault by beating, and for aiding and abetting another person to steal a woman’s handbag. Her community order was revoked.

Robert Gladding, 31, of Milton Road, Grimsby admitted two counts of breaching the requirements of a suspended sentence order, by failing to attend planned keep in touch appointments and rehabilitation activity requirement appointments. He was initially handed the order after he entered a shed as a trespasser and stole a bicycle worth £490. He was imprisoned for 12 weeks.

Ovaise Khan, 37, of Davy Avenue, Scunthorpe admitted breaching the requirements of a suspended sentence order by failing to attend rehabilitation activity requirement appointments. He was initially handed he order for using threatening and abusive behaviour, theft from a shop and affray. He was given a 20-week prison sentence, suspended for 24 months, with new and varied requirements.

Jasmine Barber, 27, of Milton Road, Grimsby was found guilty of failing to provide income and employment details for Council Tax purposes. She was fined £220, ordered to pay £200 in costs and a £88 victim services surcharge.

Brett Constantine, of Richmond Road, Cleethorpes was found guilty of failing to provide income and employment details for Council Tax purposes. He was fined £220, ordered to pay £200 in costs and a £88 victim services surcharge.

Janice Day, 34, of Macaulay Street, Grimsby was found guilty of failing to provide income and employment details for Council Tax purposes. She was fined £220, ordered to pay £200 in costs and a £88 victim services surcharge.

Donna Ralph, of Convamore Road, Grimsby was found guilty of failing to provide income and employment details for Council Tax purposes. She was fined £220, ordered to pay £200 in costs and a £88 victim services surcharge.

Nikko Kirkby, 30, of no fixed abode was sent to prison for seven days after he admitted failing to comply with the supervision requirements imposed following a period of imprisonment, in which he failed to attend appointments and keep in touch with his supervisor.

Matthew Boulter, 35, of Anderby Drive, Grimsby admitted failing to comply with the supervision requirements imposed following a period of imprisonment, in which he failed to attend appointments and keep in touch with his supervisor. He was fined £50.

Cosmin Lordate, 29, of Mulgrave Street, Scunthorpe admitted breaching the requirements of a community order by failing to attend unpaid work appointments. He was fined £50.
