Bradford’s Cedar Court Hotel reopens with boosted facilities after £1m makeover

A Bradford hotel has reopened following a £1m makeover to boost its facilities and conference offering.

Cedar Court Hotel Bradford has undergone a six-month refurbishment programme, including a full overhaul of its facilities, to create new opportunities and attract visitors to the area ahead of it becoming City of Culture in 2025.

The refurbishment includes upgraded and refreshed bedrooms, corridors, lounge and bar areas, restaurant, meeting rooms and a new ground floor co-working space and restaurant. A £250,000 investment was also made into solar panels to reduce costs and minimise the hotel’s environmental footprint.

  • The hotel’s new look West Yorkshire Conference and Events Centre has capacity for 800 guests, making it the North’s largest independent, purpose-built conference and banqueting venue. Directors say it is set to be a hub for local and international visitors, attracting a diverse range of events to the city.

    Directors have invited the city’s business community are invited to a launch event on Wednesday to mark the investment. The celebration event will feature speeches from Bradford business leaders, including Davide Longo, commercial director of Bradford City, and chamber of commerce manager, Liz Wood, as well as a tour of the new and upgraded facilities.

    The hotel forms part of Yorkshire’s largest independent hotel group, Cedar Court Hotels, which turns over £18m annually and attracts 500,000 visitors to its four hotels across the region. Despite industry challenges, the group has invested £3.2m into its portfolio of properties.
