ADVERTORIAL: Special event to remember those we have lost and celebrate Christmas is coming to St Andrew’s Hospice this weekend

The Christmas season is a time for love, family, friends, and being together, but it can be a difficult time if your life has been touched by bereavement.

Light Up a Life, held at St Andrew’s Hospice on Sunday, November 26, is a community event which offers the chance for everyone to reflect on happy memories, finding special moments to celebrate those we have loved, whilst helping your local hospice to support people living with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

Join St Andrew’s Hospice from 3.30pm to reflect on happy memories and celebrate those we love, amidst Christmas carols, brass band and a special performance from the Humber Belles Choir. Their Memory Garden will also be open and adorned in twinkly lights, providing a serene space for more personal reflection.

The event is free, taking place outdoors at St Andrew’s Hospice, Peaks Lane, Grimsby, DN32 9RP, with the on-site coffee shop serving delicious mince pies and mulled wine – amongst other things – to keep guests toasty.

The St Andrew’s Hospice remembrance scroll is now closed, but you can dedicate a light on their virtual Christmas tree here, or you can purchase a physical tribute on their year-round sculpture by contacting hello@standrewshospice.com.

A spokesperson for St Andrew’s Hospice said: “As always, thank you for your continued support of St Andrew’s Hospice. Your donations help us care for those with life-limiting illnesses, and we truly make every moment count. This year, we took 25 of our young patients and their families on the Polar Express train ride in Wensleydale, where they had an enchanting day filled with singing, dancing, storytelling, and delicious treats.

“Adding an extra sprinkle of magic, Father Christmas himself made an unexpected visit! It is because of your generosity that we can make memories that last forever – thank you, and Merry Christmas.”
