A jam-packed event with vintage memorabilia, exciting competitions, free gifts and photo opportunities with a whole host of iconic Doctor Who villains is coming to Grimsby this weekend.
From 10am on Saturday, November 25, fans of the longstanding sci-fi programme are invited to the Starrider store at 156 Victoria Street for a day of Doctor Who fun, in honour of the show’s 60th anniversary.
Visitors will have the chance to pose with a professionally-made, lifesize replica of the Tardis and K9, along with villains including the Daleks and Cybermen, who will be walking around the store.

The owner of Starrider, Paul Berry, 48, said: “The whole event is to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who. We’re going to be having a Tardis on display, Daleks, Cybermen and K9, and people can have their pictures taken with them.”
Paul said the store will also feature a special display of extremely rare vintage Doctor Who memorabilia, dating back to when the programme first aired in the 1960s.
“It’s taken a fair bit of preparation,” he said.
“I’m excited about it because I’m a massive Doctor Who fan, and these anniversaries only come round every few years. I didn’t do anything for the 50th anniversary so we won’t get another opportunity for another ten years when it’s the 70th anniversary, so I’m excited. It’s good to do something to mark the occasion.”
Visitors will also be able to get their hands on a free gift, which will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. A special competition will also be held, with the chance to win prizes including books, action figures and models.
The one-day event to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who will take place from 10am to 5pm at the Starrider store in Grimsby town centre.
