New date for Grimsby and Cleethorpes Pride 2024 amid concerns over clashing with other events

Grimsby and Cleethorpes Pride 2024 has been postponed by three weeks amid concerns around the original date clashing with the Mablethorpe event.

Originally set to be held on Saturday, June 22, the date has now been officially changed to Saturday, July 13. In a post to the event’s Facebook page, organisers Matthew and Gary reassured ticketholders that their tickets are still valid for the new date.

The family-friendly event will still be held from 11am to 9pm at the Starlight Suite, Beachcomber in Cleethorpes, where guests can expect live acts, music, stalls and entertainment for children to enjoy.

Speaking to Grimsby Live, organiser Matthew said: “We decided to change the date for Grimsby and Cleethorpes Pride because the original one clashes with the three-day weekend Pride in Mablethorpe. It’s still at the same venue, and tickets are still on sale.”

He said he and Gary – who originally hoped to provide tickets for free – have still not managed to secure sponsorship for the event, and are planning a special Valentine’s Day event and also a talent show to raise money for the big day, which he estimates will cost in the region of £5,000 to £7,000.

“We’re still seeking sponsorship for Pride, which has been the most difficult part, which is why sadly we have had to charge for tickets,” he said.

“If we could get sponsorship of between £5,000 to £7,000, this would cover the full cost of running the event.

“We’re looking at holding a Valentine’s Day Ball, which will include a disco, buffet, singer, and drag act. We’re planning on selling tickets for between £10 and £15 and the money raised will go towards paying for Pride.

“We’re also looking at running a talent show for Grimsby and Cleethorpes and the winner would receive £100 cash prize and a slot at this year’s Pride.”

The ticket prices are as follows:

  • Under 5s – free entry
  • Children – £4 each
  • Adults – £8 each
  • Family ticket 1 (2 adults and 2 children) – £20
  • Family ticket 2 (1 adult and 3 children) – £16
