Hull and East Yorkshire Business Awards to return for 24th year

Hull and East Yorkshire’s most renowned business awards are set to return for the 24th year.

The Hull and East Yorkshire (HEY) Business Awards, previously know as the Hull Live Business Awards, will relaunch this year with a fresh new look and feel. Following last year’s success, where companies across the region were recognised for their outstanding contributions in the local area, Hull and East Yorkshire’s business communities will once again be celebrated for their achievements.

As part of the 2024 awards launch, the team who will be taking over the ownership and planning of the event will be introducing a fresh new approach, including revised award categories, and long-term plans to support the winners to continue building on their potential as the region’s next wave of business talent. Hull businessman Simon Jones, founder of the Top 30 Under 30, has taken on the role of supporting the awards, working alongside Jane Smallwood, who has managed the awards for the last 10 years.

Mr Jones said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be in a position to announce the continuation of these prestigious awards. The HEY Business Awards will play a crucial role in recognising and celebrating the diverse talent across Hull and East Yorkshire’s business community, providing a platform for acknowledging innovation, growth and success within the region.

“I’m looking forward to working alongside Jane, who has a wealth of expertise in this area, and I’m excited to bring my own experience of managing the Top 30 Under 30 Awards to the table, which has been showcasing and developing the region’s next business leaders for the last seven years. We know that the area is home to some of the most inspiring business talent, and the HEY Business Awards enables us to recognise just how important that is for the continued economic growth of the city.”

The awards were previously operated by BusinessLive and Hull Live publishers Reach plc, who will be supporting the event as the principal media partner this year.

Ms Smallwood said: “We’re passionate about celebrating the business community and their achievements, and it’s been an honour to work on the Hull Live Business Awards over the last 10 years. The awards not only offer an opportunity to boost morale within the industry, but often serves as a catalyst for networking, collaboration and further business growth.

“Planning for the 2024 cohort is now well under way, and we’re looking forward to highlighting some of the hard-work and commitment of the region’s most successful businesses.”

Hull-based business Connexin have been announced as the headline sponsor for the event, demonstrating their ongoing support towards elevating what the region’s business community has to offer.

Furqan Alamgir, CEO of Connexin said: “We are thrilled to see the continuation of HEY Business Awards and proud to be a key partner. As a rapidly growing company with deep roots in Hull, we want to use this opportunity to say thank you and pay back to the countless members of this community that have helped us achieve our success to date.

“It is by celebrating businesses of all shapes and sizes around us, and our achievements together, that we can position HEY as a significant region of opportunities and attract diverse talent and investment to drive growth. We look forward to helping propel HEY into a business region of choice for many years to come.”

The new award categories and details on how to enter the Hull and East Yorkshire (HEY) Business Awards 2024 will be announced shortly, ahead of a glittering awards ceremony, which this year takes place at the Doubletree by Hilton in Hull on November 21.
