£140 Boots thief and driving offenders sentenced – Grimsby court round-up

A thief who stole £140 worth of cosmetic items from Boots and driving offenders have been sentenced at Grimsby Magistrates’ Court in recent days.

While some cases were adjourned to a later date and others sent to Grimsby Crown Court, magistrates in Grimsby still did not hesitate in handing out suspended prison sentences, driving bans and hefty fines to offenders from across northern Lincolnshire.

Here are five people who appeared at Grimsby Magistrates’ Court last week.

Sophia Koch, 35, of no fixed abode pleaded guilty to three counts of theft from a shop in which she stole £140 worth of cosmetics from Boots, chocolate worth £30 from Poundstretcher and steak and energy drinks worth £15 from Tesco. She also pleaded guilty to one count of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress. She was given a 12-month suspended sentence order and ordered to pay £95 in compensation.

Adam Stimson, 23, of St Bartholomew Square, Eastoft indicated a plea of guilty to dangerous driving and pleaded guilty to driving without insurance. He was given an 18-month suspended sentence order, banned from driving for 14 months, given an overnight curfew and ordered to pay a £154 victim services surcharge and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Saulius Miskinis, 58, of Sandtoft Industrial Estate, Belton pleaded guilty to driving whilst over the legal alcohol limit and driving without insurance. He was banned from driving for 30 months, given a 12-month suspended sentence order and ordered to pay a £154 victim services surcharge and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Bogdan Ciobanu, 33, of Patrick Street, Grimsby pleaded guilty to driving whilst over the legal alcohol limit. He was given a community order with a 120-hour unpaid work requirement, banned from driving for 40 months and ordered to pay a £114 victim services surcharge and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Bartlomiej Siewerski, 41, of East Marsh Road, Goxhill pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath when asked by police to do so having been the driver of a vehicle. He was banned from driving for three years and given a six-month suspended sentence order.
