Are you the person on your street who gets the right bins out, on the right day, before everyone else?
Do all your neighbours wait until your bins are out before they roll theirs out as they know you will have got it right? Congratulations! You are a Binfluencer.
This isn’t just about making sure your bins are emptied – it helps the whole street get the right bin and boxes out, helping the council collect and recycle as much waste as possible. This reduces littering and fly-tipping, encourages recycling and helps the environment.
READ MORE:
North Lincolnshire Council want more people to lead by example and become Binfluencers. Go to their website at www.northlincs.gov.uk/collectiondates to find out when your bin collection days are. You can also download a table with the dates on to print out and stick to your fridge or bin.
Why not print off a few and post them through neighbours’ letterboxes – that’s what a true Binfluencer would do!
Check out the information on the website page to see exactly what goes into each bin or box.
You may be surprised about the amount of things they can collect and recycle from your doorstep, including batteries, small electricals, shoes, old clothes and handbags.
Don’t forget collection dates can change at bank holidays, especially at Easter and Christmas when bank holidays may not fall on a Monday. This Christmas anyone who usually has their bins emptied on Tuesday, December 26 will need to put them out on Saturday, December 23 to take the Boxing Day bank holiday into account.
Spread the word so no-one misses a bin collection again. Binfluencers make North Lincolnshire cleaner, greener and more environmentally friendly – one bin at a time.
