North Lindsey College in Scunthorpe will be opening its doors to the general public once again for its annual open event on Wednesday, October 18 from 4.30pm to 7pm.
Prospective students of all ages are encouraged to visit the event and to see the variety of routes into industry that are available at their local college.
Every year hundreds of people, including school leavers and those returning to education, attend the open event to discuss their options, make an early application and start their journey with the college.
The entire campus will be open with curriculum areas showcasing their facilities, which will be supported by current students and staff who are on hand to talk to. Guests will also be given the chance to learn about the future plans to invest in the campus building.
The college aims to offer innovative experiences to visitors, with the night’s programme including demonstrations in the specialist air cabin which Travel and Tourism students use to practice their future careers as cabin crew. The Animal Care Centre will also be open where visitors will be able to look at over 70 species and take part in animal handling.
Create an Image and Time to Shine are the themes being showcased by Hair and Beauty students, and performances will be taking place throughout the evening from the Music, Performing Arts and Dance students.
The full range of facilities will be open including the specialist catering kitchens, Engineering Technology Centre, Care Training Suite and much more.
The College Careers Team will also be available on the night to speak to prospective students to offer advice about their next steps.
Trish Riordan, Careers Adviser at North Lindsey College, said: “This is an Ideal opportunity to find out for yourself what North Lindsey College has to offer.
