Summer is here and, finally, the weather has started to hot up.
Families will likely be making a beeline for paddling pools, splash pads and swimming pools for a cooling and fun session with the kids, during the school summer holidays. A visit to the swimming baths has long been a holiday tradition – but there is more to do than just swim.
Leisure centres and water parks have slides, flumes and inflatables to enjoy, among the many water-based attractions. A simple paddling pool can offer oodles of entertainment to the youngest members of the family, or a splash play zone can add an extra layer of fun, with water spouts to jump in and cannons to fire.

The council also operates a paddling pool at Sutton on Sea (as well as Queen’s Park, Mablethorpe), but has said, due to ongoing development work of the new Colonnade building at Sutton on Sea, the Maple Leaf pool will not be opening this year, but will return in 2025 after “lots of refurbishment work to the pool”.

Open from June to September, the splash pad at Normanby is a great place for the young ones to burn off some energy while keeping cool.
