Arco helps Amanda Holden conquer Blackpool Tower

Celebrity Amanda Holden has climbed Blackpool Tower supported by Arco’s professional safety services team.

The daredevil stunt marked the 10th annual week of challenges for Global Radio’s Make Some Nouse charity. The Hull-headquartered firm ensured the Heart presented conquered the 518ft ascent in the best possible way.

It is the third time the team from the leading safety firm have been to the top of the iconic landmark, twice capturing the Red Arrows on resort fly pasts. It has a track record of supporting film stunts too, with James Bond’s daring London Eye feat to mark the No Time To Die premiere also orchestrated with Arco.

Russ Edwards, Bartek Biela and Jack Ball, Training Instructors at Arco Professional Safety Services along with Steve Dawson, training manager at Arco Professional Safety Services, facilitated the ascent and guided Amanda safely to the top of the tower. As the lead instructor for this event, Russ was responsible for training Amanda in personal fall-protection equipment and working at height prior to the event and guided her up the tower, with Bartek capturing the event on camera.

The feat was broadcast live from 8am on Heart, with the Britain’s Got Talent judge completing the challenge by the 9am target, hitting a celebratory buzzer to recognise the achievement.

Russ said: “Though this was the third instance that we’ve conquered the climb of Blackpool Tower, it’s always an incredibly exciting opportunity with some phenomenal views waiting for us at the top. This time we also had the added benefit of escorting Amanda to the top all while supporting a great cause, a privileged responsibility that we were proud to accept.”

While Amanda completed the tower challenge, ex-husband Les Dennis won’t be seeing the inside of the famous Blackpool ballroom, having been the first to leave Strictly Come Dancing’s latest series.
