Regional housebuilder Beal Homes has received full planning permission for another 600 homes at The Greenways site in Goole.
Approval from East Riding of Yorkshire Council will allow the family firm to complete the £210m development that will eventually extend to more than 800 homes. Beal has already sold more than 180 homes at The Greenways, which covers 73-acres off Rawcliffe Road in Goole and is said to be the largest housing scheme in the town for decades.
Beal says demand has been strong at the site, where work is under way to create a show village development to demonstrate its homes. The next phase of development, an investment of £156m, will bring more two, three and four-bedroom properties to the market.

Beal chief executive Richard Beal said: “We identified the rich potential of Goole many years ago now, as well as a pent-up demand for high-quality new homes in the town. The strong sales we have achieved and the continuing high demand we are seeing at The Greenways has justified our confidence.
“We’re now pleased to have secured full planning permission to continue our long-term investment and the critical contribution we’re making to Goole’s remarkable rejuvenation.”
The approved plans include a new public right of way to be created around the perimeter of The Greenways, as well as a cycle path running through the development. New public green spaces will also be created, with direct access to the popular West Park Goole providing a link to 32 acres of park complete with a playground, multi-use games area, BMX tracks, sports pitches and a bowling green.
Beal Land director Chris Murphy said: “The Greenways has transformed the quality and variety of housing in Goole, providing luxury, contemporary homes for local residents as well as attracting new people to the town.
“As the largest single development in our company’s history, securing full planning permission for the remainder of The Greenways marks another significant milestone in our delivery of this long-term scheme. It builds on our proud history of delivering high-quality developments that enhance local communities, provide desirable places to live, and support economic growth.”
