Extra bus services across North Lincolnshire have started.
They included a more frequent 350 service between Scunthorpe and Hull, via Barton, which now runs hourly in the evenings. Other improvements include more buses for Brigg and Kirton-in-Lindsey.
The changes come as pensioners are urged to take up free travel. North Lincolnshire Council has stated that ten thousand pensioners in the area have not taken up the concessionary travel passes that they are eligible for.

The passes, for people aged 66 and over, as well as disabled residents and their carers, offer free travel on local buses at any time. Free or discounted travel is also available on local trains.
A councillor has encouraged people to take up the passes to ensure that the offer – which goes above and beyond the minimum legal requirement of free travel after 9.30am – is renewed in the future. More than 23,000 local residents are eligible in total.
Cllr Tim Mitchell, the council’s cabinet member for connectivity, said: “This additional support has a huge impact on the lives of many people, making travel easier and ultimately, cheaper – but there are many people who could benefit. Being able to get out and about really does enable people to enjoy a full and active life.
“We’ve invested additional government cash in creating new bus routes across the area, and if those people who are eligible for passes got them and used these buses, we’d protect that connectivity further.”
New bus service times
Since April 1, the 350 between Scunthorpe and Hull, via Barton, now runs hourly in the evenings from 5.45pm, Monday to Saturday. The last return journey from Hull is also now 11pm.

There is now a 9.15am service at Scunthorpe Bus Station that ends in Brigg at 9.54am. A return journey from Brigg begin at 10am.
