Celebrated in many countries around the world, Africa Day commemorates the foundation of the Organisation of African Unity on May 25, 1963.
A spokesperson for Freeman Street Market told Grimsby Live: “We are hosting the first ever Africa Day Event in Grimsby hosted by The Health Gospel CIC. It’s National Africa Day, commemorating the independence of 18 countries in West and Sub-Saharan Africa in 1960.
“The event forms part of our Love You Local Market campaign, which is a movement that celebrates the heart of local communities through markets, exciting promotions, new business initiatives, and engaging local participation.
“We are so excited for this event, not only because it will bring a lively and uplifting atmosphere to our market but also to make new friends, have more people join our market community and celebrate local people, who love their local market.”
