Scunthorpe’s constituency was re-drawn in the 2023 Boundary Commission for England’s review. It was extended north to cover Burton upon Stather and Winterton Ward, and westwards to include Burringham and Gunness Ward.
The polls close at 10pm when an exit poll is revealed. This is the earliest indicator of how the election will pan out after voting ends and has been a mostly very accurate reflection of the actual final result in recent general elections. It is conducted by IPSOS UK who put interviewers at more than 130 polling stations around the country before revealing their findings at 10pm.
We’ll be bringing you the results as they come in from the counts, including at The Pods in Scunthorpe, along with anecdotes and interviews as the votes are tallied. The declaration for Scunthorpe is not expected until some point after 3am.
