A young Grimsby band featuring members juggling GCSEs and A-Levels with playing gigs to thousands of people has landed its first record deal.
Revivalry, which is made up of singer and bassist Josh Courfield, 15, guitarist and singer Ben Townsend, 16, and drummer Lewis Hubbert, 16, has gone from strength to strength since launching last year, and has secured a record deal with the Cosmic Glue record label.
It comes as the trio – two of whom are studying for their GCSEs and A-Levels – recently landed a place playing for 25,000 people at the upcoming Kendal Calling festival in August.

Speaking to Grimsby Live, Ben said: “The co-founder of Kendal Calling, Ben Robinson, saw us performing at a gig a while ago and invited us to play Kendal Calling.
“Then recently, he asked us to visit his new studio to record there. He loved what we were doing, the song structures and sounds we were putting down, so he asked us to play at one of his Manchester gigs. Immediately after that set he asked us to join his Cosmic Glue label.
“We’re extremely excited for the future and feel a sense of gratitude that we’ve been given the opportunity. It’s a great feeling and means a lot to all of us. It’s such a privilege to be noticed by a big player in the industry.”
Speaking about how they juggle their passion for music and their education, Ben continued: “Josh has upcoming GCSEs so we try to focus on working around that. We try not to accept gigs that will interfere with education but we love playing live, it’s where we are at our best. Most weekends we’re on the road to gigs or the studio.”
Revivalry are gearing up to release their new single ‘The Town’ and will play two local gigs in the near future. On Friday, May 3, they will support Apollo Junction at Docks Academy and, on Saturday, May 18, they will play at The Spiders’ Web, in Carr Lane.
