Jordan from Scunthorpe has officially been crowned the winner of Big Brother 2023.
The 26-year-old lawyer – who attended school in Grimsby – joked “I can pay my council tax” as he was announced as the winner of the hit ITV show, which returned to our screens this year for the first time in five years.
Taking home £100,000 in prize money, the contestant has been a favourite among viewers since the show first launched six weeks ago, most notably for his wit and deadpan humour and his “fascinating” Downton Abbey accent – despite having grown up on a council estate in Scunthorpe.

In his video profile shown before he entered the Big Brother house, Jordan revealed he applied “on a whim” and out of “boredom”. He said: “Well, I love the show. I was quite disillusioned with life so I suppose boredom made me apply to some extent. I honestly applied on a whim.
“I’m interested in the social experiments side of Big Brother. I don’t really like the idea of living with people but I thought I might as well give it a try. And I wanted to challenge myself.”
During his time in the house, Jordan enjoyed a blossoming romance with fellow contestant Henry Southan, 25, and revealed during the exit dinner that he “can’t wait” to spend time together “away from the cameras”.
In his exit interview, he said: “Henry and I made a promise, that whoever wins, we’d go to a five-star hotel…. somewhere decent, you know.”
“Twin room, of course,” he joked.
When asked by presenters AJ Odudu and Will Best why he thinks viewers voted for him to win, he said he “hadn’t the foggiest”, but that he was “overwhelmed” and “honoured”.
