Man banned from several Scunthorpe shops for two years after spate of thefts

A Scunthorpe man has been banned from entering certain shops and retail parks after being convicted for a string of thefts.

Paul White, 50, of Hindon Walk, Scunthorpe, was handed a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) at Grimsby Magistrates’ Court after being found guilty of a spate of shop thefts. White was arrested and later charged with the incidents that took place between May and October this year.

The order means he cannot enter Gallagher Retail Park, North Lincolnshire Shopping Park, Aldi, in Ashby High Street, or Asda, in Burringham Road. If he breaches the order he will be given further punishment with the public being asked to contact 101 should they seem him in any of these locations.


Humberside Police said: “Following work carried out by officers from our Community Safety Unit and Neighbourhood Policing Team, a man was issued with a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) when he appeared at Grimsby Magistrates Court on Wednesday 22 November.

“Paul White, aged 50, of Hindon Walk in Scunthorpe, was arrested and later charged with multiple shop thefts following incidents in the Scunthorpe area between May and October this year. The court imposed a two-year CBO on Paul White, the conditions of which are that he must not enter various shops and supermarkets in the Scunthorpe area.

“As per the order, he is not permitted to enter the Gallagher Retail Park, North Lincolnshire Shopping Park, Lakeside Retail Park, Aldi on Ashby High Street or Asda on Burringham Road. If Paul White is found in breach of this order, within the two-year term, he will suffer the consequences of breaching this Magistrates Court imposed Criminal Behaviour Order.

“If you witness him breaching this order please contact us on 101 so that we can carry out the necessary investigations.”
