Mariners fans flock to Parkway Cinema for World Premiere of All Town Aren’t We

The docu-film charts the rise of the Mariners during their incredible play-off run

1300 Mariners fans packed out Cleethorpes’ Parkway Cinema last night for the World Premiere of docu-film All Town Aren’t We.

Created by lifelong Grimsby Town fan and director Jack Spring and his company Shush, it tells the story of the club’s takeover in 2021 and the heroic play-off run. All those moments were captured brilliantly over 18 months of production.

The special feature-length version of the documentary, which includes never-before-seen interviews with players, staff and fans, is screening at Parkway until Saturday, January 13 after its World Premiere last night.

Fans, players and club executives alike flocked to the red-carpet event to celebrate an incredible moment in the club’s history.

Jack previously told Grimsby Live he had been a little bit nervous directing footballers, rather than actors but said they were “all fantastic.” “It’s great we were able to get to know them as people a bit better and for their personalities to shine through.

“It was also great to show Grimsby, and the people of Grimsby, in a positive light and I’m so excited to see if we can help to change people’s perspectives of both this football club and also the town as a whole.”

The director said he was impressed by the interest in his latest film and is well aware of the national and international interest in Grimsby Town FC. “A lot of people have left Grimsby over the years.

“But they still share a passion for the town and its club. That’s why when The Mariners are playing in the London area or Manchester there is a massive away following.

“Town have a big exile following. It is something we hope will be replicated with the film. There are regularly 5,000 at home games but there were 17,000 at the London Stadium. The film is for them. It has been a labour of love as I have such a passion for Grimsby Town, with my family coming from Grimsby.”

Look out for more from the Premiere soon.
