A one-of-a-kind market offering all things alternative will arrive in Grimsby on Sunday (June 9).
From 11am to 4pm at well-known rock club Yardbirds on Church Street, members of the public can browse a huge selection of quirky products by an array of traders, from alternative clothing and intricate jewellery to art pieces and even taxidermy.
The entire event – named ‘Out of the Ordinary’ – has been organised by local business owners, Vikki Taylor of Deadly Bakes and Amethyst Byrne of Mardy Mole, who wanted to provide an inclusive and welcoming space for likeminded people.

Vikki told Grimsby Live: “We both have our own experiences of not always feeling like we belong, and with a huge passion for alternative music, clothing and creations, this inspired us as organisers to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for likeminded people.
“A safe space, with a relaxed atmosphere, where people are free to express their creativity and are encouraged to be their amazing, unique selves. Whether people come along with friends or solo, it’s the perfect opportunity to socialise and make new connections.”
Alongside the stalls, the Yardbirds bar will be open with outdoor seating available. Members of the public can also enjoy a bite to eat thanks to the event’s barbecue.
Vikki continued: “We’ve had so much interest in the event already from both customers and traders and we’re so grateful. We can’t wait to open the doors this Sunday to see all the hard work come together and enjoy an amazing day.
“As we move forward, we can only hope the event continues to grow and develop within the local community. We have so many exciting ideas for future events. Once this Sunday’s market is over, keep your eyes peeled for announcements of our next event date and how to apply to trade with us.”
