Mobile speed cameras in northern Lincolnshire October 14-20

Enforcement officers will be visiting a number of routes around the region this week.

Drivers can see where the mobile cameras are likely to be situated through the daily enforcement schedule on the Safer Roads Humber website . However, not all locations are listed on the schedule, so motorists should take care and exercise caution when driving in the region.

Humberside Police , in partnership with Safer Roads Humber, will be at several other sites throughout the week that are not listed below. Humberside Police reserves the right to enforce speed limits on any road, at any time..

Mobile speed cameras will be in the following locations in northern Lincolnshire:

Mon October 14: Carr Lane – Grimsby/Cleethorpes
Tues October 15: A18 Doncaster Road – Gunness (60mph)
Weds October 16: A1173 Kings Road – Immingham
Thurs October 17: B1206 Wold Road – Barrow
Fri October 18: B1206 Scawby Road/Scawby Brook – Brigg
Sat October 19: Various sites across the region
Sun October 20: Various sites across the region

For those crossing the Humber Bridge to the North Bank, mobile cameras will be in the following locations:

Mon October 14: A165 Coniston/Ganstead
Tues October 15: A164 Snaith Road – Rawcliffe
Weds October 16: Beverley Road – South Cave
Thurs October 17: B1230 Newport
Fri October 18: A614 Londesborough roundabout to Middleton on the Wolds
Sat October 19: Various sites across the region
Sun October 20: Various sites across the region

Carsley Naive to think England can win titles without trying something new

Interim boss Lee Carsley says England have the talent and experience to win the World Cup in two years but believes their approach needs to change to do so. Gareth Southgate came closer than any manager since Sir Alf Ramsey to leading the men’s team to silverware, finishing runners-up in back-to-back European Championships. Runs to the World Cup semi-finals and quarter-finals underlined England’s place among the best, but Carsley is “really wary of the fact the last time we won something was 1966″. The under-21s boss confirmed ahead of Sunday’s Nations League match in Finland he did not formally apply for the job of senior team manager but believes whoever is appointed has “a really good chance of winning”. Asked if he felt England can finally get their hands on a trophy at the 2026 World Cup, Carsley nodded and immediately said: “Yeah, I think the past potentially is a good indicator of the future. “We’ve got quite a few players now that are currently in the squad and around the squad that have won a lot with England (at age-group level). They’ve felt that before. “You know, they come to St George’s (Park), they come on England camps and they’re used to winning and they’re used to being in the latter stages of competitions and being successful. I think that can only be a good thing for us. “If you think back to that Germany team and the Spain team that were really successful at the younger age groups that came through, I think potentially we could be coming into a period of that ilk. “I’m not saying that…I mean, we’ve been so close in the past and with a bit more luck or belief on our side it could have been different. “But as we stand at the minute it’s not, so I believe that we could be coming into a phase of that kind of success.” Germany won the 2014 World Cup with a number of players that had triumphed at the European Under-21 Championship five years earlier, with Euro 2024 winners Spain similarly benefiting from their age-level successes. England’s 22-man squad in Finland has 13 players that have tasted glory as part of development teams, including five members of Carsley’s triumphant side at the 2023 Under-21 Euros. That side reflected their manager’s attack-minded approach, which went too far on Thursday as Greece capitalised on the imbalance of a team with five attackers but no out-and-out striker. “I could see it being quite easy just to go with the same squad and the same players and almost, not doing the same thing, but not trying as many things,” Carsley said after Thursday’s 2-1 Wembley loss. “Your human instinct is to be safe, to go with things that you’re comfortable with, but it was important that in this period I felt that I have to be out of my comfort zone. “I have to try something because we’ve got to put ourselves in a position where we can win and to think that we can just do the same again and expect something different I think is naive. “So I totally accept all of the criticism. I’m glad it was directed towards me, not the players, and we move on.” When asked if much change is needed bearing in mind England reached successive Euros finals, he said: “We’re not that far away. We have been close twice. “It was important that I put my own stamp on the team and the squad and tried something different because the understanding is that unless it changes, it won’t change. It was more little tweaks than wholesale.” Carsley was in defiant mood on the eve of facing Finland, saying he was “here to fight again” after the chastening Wembley loss. The interim boss says his son Connor being born with Down’s Syndrome helped teach him to keep things in perspective, with his focus on England’s progress rather than his own position. “The last thing that is important to me in this whole process is me,” said Carsley, who according to reports does not want to succeed Southgate on a permanent basis. “The reason I believe I have done so well in coaching is because people know that it’s not about me. It’s about the players, it’s about the environment, it’s about the culture. “If I do try something different, they can see I’m trying it out of trying to get the best out of the team or the individual rather than myself. “I don’t see this as an audition. I don’t see it as the biggest chance I have ever had. I see it as a privilege. Grimsby court list – 11 offenders named and shamed

An offender who breached two restraining orders and threatened to stab his victims and a man caught carrying a knife in public have been sentenced at Grimsby Magistrates’ Court. While some cases were adjourned to a later date and others sent to Grimsby Crown Court, magistrates in Grimsby have still handed out many jail terms, suspended sentence orders, community orders and hefty fines in recent days. Here are several offenders from across northern Lincolnshire who were sentenced at Grimsby Magistrates’ Court last week. Christopher Robinson, 37, of Melford Court, Scunthorpe indicated pleas of guilty to sending communications threatening death or serious harm, namely threatening to stab the victims, and two counts of harassment in which he breached two restraining orders. He was given a community order with a curfew and electronic monitoring requirement. Tyler Groves, 22, of Sheffield Street, Scunthorpe indicated a plea of guilty to the possession of a knife in a public place. He was jailed for 16 weeks. Levi Piggott, 31, of Carr Lane, Cleethorpes indicated a plea of guilty to the assault by beating of an emergency worker, namely a police constable, and pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress. He was ordered to pay a fine of £200, £85 in costs and an £80 victim services surcharge. Grimsby Magistrates Court (Image: Donna Clifford/GrimsbyLive) Darren Gamble, 51, of Frodingham Road, Scunthorpe indicated a plea of guilty to harassment in which he put the victim in fear of violence by entering an address and threatening to assault the victim on multiple occasions. He was given a community order with the requirement to undergo drug rehabilitation and ordered to pay a £114 victim services surcharge, £85 in costs and a £40 fine. Tom Aisthorpe, 31, of Claymore Close, Cleethorpes pleaded guilty to driving whilst under the influence of cocaine and cannabis. He was banned from driving for three years and ordered to pay a fine of £300, a £120 victim services surcharge and £85 in costs. Josh Cooling, 29, of Hereward Place, Scunthorpe pleaded guilty to three counts of criminal damage in which he damaged three cars and to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress. He was jailed for one month and ordered to pay a £154 victim services surcharge. Nicole Packwood, 31, of Fairway, Waltham pleaded guilty to failing to stop after a road accident and driving whilst above the legal alcohol limit. She was banned from driving for 14 months and ordered to pay a £300 fine, a £120 victim services surcharge and £85 in costs. Sheneice Cockburn, 22, of Somerby Road, Scunthorpe pleaded guilty to driving whilst under the influence of cocaine. She was banned from driving for one year and ordered to pay a £200 fine and £85 in costs. Jamie Diskin, 19, of Macaulay Street, Grimsby indicated a plea of guilty to the assault by beating of an emergency worker, namely a police constable, and pleaded guilty to theft from a shop in which he stole £60 worth of alcohol from Tesco. He was jailed for 14 weeks. Jamie Dyke, 29, of Hope Street, Grimsby pleaded guilty to six counts of theft from a shop in which he stole razor blades worth £96 from Boots, alcohol worth £66 from Asda, alcohol worth £60 from Tesco Express and a gift set worth £30 from Boots. He also pleaded guilty to three counts of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress. He was jailed for 12 weeks.
