A singer from Scunthorpe who appeared on The X Factor has released a wacky Christmas charity single all about sausage rolls – with proceeds going to a very worthy cause.
Andy Holloway, 35, appeared on the hit ITV show back in 2017 where he performed a dance pop song he wrote himself, ‘Come On And Sing It With Me’, to judges Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger.
When the fan of the YouTube sensation LadBaby heard the couple were not planning on releasing one of their annual sausage roll themed charity Christmas songs this year, he decided to rename and re-record his song, ‘Come On And Sing It With Me’ into ‘Come On It’s Sausage Rolls’, with all proceeds from streams going to The Trussell Trust charity.

During a meet and greet with the YouTubers in Nottingham, he claims he told them about his plans to release the song – and that they gave him their blessing.
Speaking to Scunthorpe Live, Andy said: “I love watching LadBaby on YouTube, I think they’re great people, and I was so gutted when I heard they wouldn’t be making a sausage roll single this year. I suggested to my friend about making a sausage roll song myself and changing the words, so I did, and me and my friend Sam wrote it together. LadBaby inspired me to write the song.
“I had a meet and greet ticket to meet [LadBaby]. When they were released, I said to my partner, ‘I’m going to have to get a ticket’. In the Q&A before the photo opportunity I barged to the front and asked them a question, and after that I said, ‘Can I just say something?’ and I told them I’ve got a charity single about sausage rolls called ‘Come On It’s Sausage Rolls’.
He claimed: “They told me to send it to them and said they’d download it. They were really genuine, lovely people. I was worried that because sausage rolls is their gimmick that I was stealing it from them somehow, but they were so, so happy for me.”
All proceeds made from the song will go to The Trussell Trust, a national charity which helps millions of people living in poverty in the UK. There are currently around 1,300 food banks across the country run by The Trussell Trust.
Andy, who sings the song alongside his friend Kyle Finn, continued: “I’ve been in that situation before where I’ve had a good job but even so, I’ve struggled to pay for rent and food. Lots of people are going through hardship right now because of how much everything costs, and the amount of things you have to pay for just to survive. It’s such a struggle. I want to make as much money for charity as I can through the song.”
Speaking about his experience on The X Factor, Andy said: “I got some really nice comments saying I just needed more confidence and to practice more. I was waiting for 12 hours for this audition so I was so nervous, when you’re waiting so long you get tired as well, but it was an amazing experience.
“It was something fun to do, but it’s not something I’d do again because I feel like it’s not for everyone. But I’m glad I did it because I did something that some people would never have the guts to do. I like to do this because it’s my hobby, and through doing this sausage roll song, I just want to raise as much money as possible.”
