A one-way system is being proposed in a part of Scunthorpe.
Teale Street and adjoining Percival Street are already designated as a “Home Zone” area in order to help manage traffic. Now, North Lincolnshire Council wants to turn them both into one-way streets.
It is hoped that the move would “improve traffic management and assist vehicle flows”. Cars would enter Percival Street from Frodingham Road and travel eastwards towards Teale Street.

At the junction with Teale Street, drivers would be prevented from turning right. Motorists would enter Teale Street from West Street and travel northwards towards Berkeley Street.
Home Zone residential areas were created with the intention of ensuring vehicles and people share the whole of the street space equally. The aim was to enhance quality of life for residents. People who wish to object to the plans for a one-way system have until March 21 to contact the council’s traffic team, whether in writing or by email.
