The opening date for one of Scunthorpe‘s two McDonald’s restaurants has been announced as February 27 following an extensive refurbishment.
Located on Lakeside Parkway, the restaurant has undergone a complete overhaul of its layout as part of the Convenience of the Future programme, which is being rolled out across the UK.
Key features of the re-designed Scunthorpe restaurant include a third drive-thru window and a dedicated ‘McDelivery Only’ zone, a specialised area for delivery drivers only to streamline order pickups and reduce congestion in the dining area.

Environmentally conscious features are also at the heart of the new look eatery, with LED lighting, wall graphics made out of recycled coffee cups, recyclable floor and wall tiles and furniture made from fully recycled materials.
The investment will also create an additional 30 full and part-time jobs for the local community.
Bob Meadowcroft, the McDonald’s franchisee behind this transformation, said: “I’m thrilled to witness the ongoing refurbishment of my Lakeside Parkway restaurant. The new layout promises an enhanced experience for my team and our customers. We eagerly await the reopening and look forward to welcoming everyone to see the re-design.”
Since 2022, McDonald’s has introduced Convenience of the Future to more than 200 restaurants across the UK and Ireland, with a further 800 conversions planned by 2026.
