Peaks Parkway speeders among offenders at Grimsby Magistrates Court

A man failing to comply with court orders after assaulting an emergency worker, a string of driving offenders and people not providing information for Council Tax purposes were among those to appear before magistrates in Grimsby last week.

Prison sentences, hefty fines, driving bans and points on licences were handed out by Grimsby Magistrates’ Court, in what was a busy week for driving and Council Tax offences in particular.

Here are 12 people from across northern Lincolnshire who appeared before magistrates in Grimsby last week.

Trevor Daines, 41, of Eleanor Street, Grimsby was imprisoned for eight weeks after he admitted breaching the requirements of a suspended sentence order by failing to attend rehabilitation activity appointments. He was originally handed the suspended sentence for assaulting an emergency worker, namely a prison officer.

Paul Seward, 59, whose address was not given was sent to prison for seven days after admitting to breaching a domestic violence protection order by arriving at the home address of the victim, knocking on the door and shouting.

Joshua Porter, 23, of Hawerby Road, Hawerby pleaded guilty through the Single Justice Procedure to four counts of driving over the speed limit on Peaks Parkway. He was disqualified from driving for six months, ordered to pay a victim services surcharge of £160, costs of £110 and a fine of £400.

Billy Maddison, 28, of Rutland Street, Grimsby was found guilty through the Single Justice Procedure of two counts of failing to give information about the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence. He was disqualified from driving for six months, fined £1,320, ordered to pay a £176 victim services surcharge and £110 in costs.

Matthew Gibbs, 27, of Gilbey Road, Grimsby was found guilty through the Single Justice Procedure of failing to give information about the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence. He was disqualified from driving for six months, fined £660, ordered to pay a £176 victim services surcharge and £110 in costs.

Darryl Hutchings, 66, of Cloisters Mews, Ulceby was found guilty through the Single Justice Procedure of failing to give information about the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence. He was disqualified from driving for six months, fined £660, ordered to pay a £176 victim services surcharge and £110 in costs.

Stephen Green, 36, of Knightsbridge Road, Messingham pleaded guilty through the Single Justice Procedure to driving at a speed of 88mph when the speed limit was 70mph. His driving licence was endorsed with three points, he was ordered to pay costs of £110, fined £107 and ordered to pay a victim services surcharge of £43.

Desart Bregasi, 38, of Evesham Avenue, Grimsby pleaded guilty through the Single Justice Procedure to driving at a speed of 45mph when the speed limit was 30mph. He was handed four points on his driving licence, fined £230, ordered to pay costs of £110 and given a £34 victim services surcharge.

Leanne Johnson, 25, of Walmsgate Place, Grimsby pleaded guilty to driving at 52mph on Peaks Parkway when there was a 40mph speed limit in force. Her driving licence was endorsed with three points, she was fined £60 and ordered to pay a £34 victim services surcharge.

Mohammed Aljamal of Durban Road, Grimsby was found guilty of failing to provide income and employment details for council tax purposes. He was ordered to pay costs of £200, fined £60 and ordered to pay a £24 victim services surcharge.

Gary King, 57, of Alden Close, Immingham was found guilty of failing to provide income and employment details for council tax purposes. He was ordered to pay costs of £200, fined £60 and ordered to pay a £24 victim services surcharge.

Leanne Warrington, 40, of Werneth Road, Grimsby was found guilty of failing to provide income and employment details for council tax purposes. She was ordered to pay costs of £200, fined £60 and ordered to pay a £24 victim services surcharge.
