“The Humber Bridge will be open as normal and you will still be able to access the west walkway as usual. However, there will be local road closures and diversions throughout Hessle and Barton both prior to and during the event.

“Ferriby Road will be closed from 8.30am to 12.30pm, and our car parks will be inaccessible to vehicles until after the event has finished.

“Due to the road closures in the area, please allow a little extra time for your journey.”

The half marathon takes runners on a mostly closed road route, starting and finishing at Hessle High School. Participants will head out from Hessle, onto the Humber Bridge, and onto closed roads around Barton-upon-Humber, before returning over the iconic Humber Bridge to return to the finish line at the school.
