A Scunthorpe man has died after his car hit a tree, police said today.
The man, who has not been named, was driving along East Ferry Road in Laughton, near Gainsborough, when his car left the road and collided with a nearby tree shortly after 12.30pm yesterday (Thursday). The road was closed to allow investigators to carry out enquiries, but has since reopened.
The man’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. Lincolnshire Police are appealing for anyone with information or dashcam footage taken at around the time of the incident to come forward.

A spokesperson said: “Officers were called to the scene of a single vehicle collision this afternoon (Thursday, 21 September) just after 12.30pm on East Ferry Road, Laughton.
“A silver Honda had left the road and collided with a tree. The driver and only occupant of the car, a man aged 22 from the Scunthorpe area, has tragically died. His family have been informed, they are being supported by specially trained officers.
“The road was closed to allow officers to investigate the collision scene. It has now reopened. We are appealing to anyone travelling along East Ferry Road, Laughton, or in the local area at the time who may have seen the silver Honda or may have dashcam footage that will assist our investigation to get in touch.
