Scunthorpe man jailed and handed shop ban after stealing £350 of chocolate and wine

A thief who stole nearly £350 of chocolate and wine has been jailed for eight months and handed a two-year shop ban.

Paul Enefer, 37, of Teignmouth Court, Scunthorpe was arrested and charged with three counts of shop theft and two counts of battery following incidents in Scunthorpe between October and November.

Appearing at Grimsby Magistrates Court on Friday, Enefer was also handed a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) which states he must not enter the One Stop shop on Enderby Road for a period of two years.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “Following the work carried out by officers from our Community Safety Unit and Neighbourhood Policing Team, a 37-year-old man was jailed for 34 weeks and issued with a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) when he appeared at Grimsby Magistrates Court on Friday 12 January.

“Paul Enefer, aged 37, of Teignmouth Court, Scunthorpe was arrested and later charged with three counts of shop theft and two counts of battery following incidents in the Scunthorpe area between Thursday 12 October and Thursday 23 November.

“The court imposed a two-year CBO on Paul Enefer, the conditions of which are that he must not enter One Stop on Enderby Road in Scunthorpe.

“If Paul Enefer is found in breach of this order within the two-year term, he will suffer the consequences of breaching this Magistrates Court imposed Criminal Behaviour Order.”
