South Yorkshire’s instantprint invests £450,000 in new kit and recruitment

Online business cards and leaflet specialist instantprint says it has invested nearly half a million pounds in new machinery and the creation of jobs.

The Rotherham-based firm, which describes itself as the UK’s largest online printer, has spent £450,000 on a Hunkeler CS8 cutting machine. It has been brought in to make the brand’s 147,000 sqft Wath upon Dearne facility more efficient and is helping to reduce paper waste.

Instantprint says the gains have allowed it to pass savings on to customers who are offered fast turnaround on next-day delivery orders with a cut off time of 5pm. In addition to the plant, the firm has recruited more than 40 staff since August. Hiring is still ongoing for a number of vacancies including senior graphic designer, production planners and PPC manager, ahead of what the firms says could be a peak period.

Laura Mucklow, head of instantprint, said: “Our investment presents opportunities for both instantprint and individuals in the region who are seeking employment within a dynamic and expanding enterprise. It also means we’re able to offer our customers better quality products on a fast turnaround at a price that is fair.’

“At instantprint we’re all about providing customers with high quality print on a fast turnaround that makes our business clients grow. This investment positions us for sustained success and enables us to do what we do best – help businesses thrive.”

Instantprint is part of the £93.9m revenue Bluetree Group. Most recent accounts for the group show that in the year to the end of April 2022 it invested £2.5m in new equipment for the print business amid an uptick in orders following Covid.
