Surveying and consents management firm Ardent says it is committed to growing in Yorkshire following expansion into a new Leeds office.
The specialist in land and consents advice working across the renewables, regeneration, transport and utilities sector has relocated to 36 Park Row in the city centre. Ardent says the move, after six years in the city, comes on the back of a series of new hires, meaning now has a Leeds team of 16.
The new office will serve as the base for the company’s new planning and engagement directorate, as well as work across its other service areas. It is part of a growth strategy at Ardent – with offices in Birmingham, London, Warrington and Dublin – which is aiming to employ 250 by 2026.

Carl Weaver, chief operating officer at Ardent, said the move showed the company’s commitment to all areas of the UK. He said: “We’ve been established for longer in Leeds – since 2017, when we first began work on HS2 Phase 2B. And, while that was the project that gave us a foothold in the city, we have grown significantly since then and people from all service areas and directorates within the business are now based here.
“Again, we are showing to Leeds and to Yorkshire that we are committed to investing and growing here and the two new offices form part of our wider ambitions to double the size of the business over the next three years.”
Ardent’s Leeds expansion comes at the same time as growth of its Glasgow office. The wider firm has played a role in high profile projects including London Docklands Light Railway, Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon and Emirates Arline (London Cable Car) amongst others.
