Talasey paves the way for builders’ merchant success with addition of dedicated team

Scunthorpe-headquartered landscaping solutions specialist Talasey has recruited a team of merchant support managers as it strengthens ties with retailers.

A team of six will cover the UK, in what is a new tier of customer support. The aim is to call on more merchants, more often, to ensure point of sale displays are in prime condition for the product range, which includes Natural Paving, Vitripiazza, Piranha, Pavetuf and Luxigraze.

They can take part in trade days, showcasing products to landscapers, contractors and the public, and will also deliver basic product training, while advising on courses offered by the team’s in-house academy – a key asset following the expansion to the St Vincent House headquarters.

It comes just weeks after the senior management team was strengthened.

Talasey’s technical and training manager, Lavinia Dowson, said Talasey has seen an opportunity to get closer to its customers and enhance its existing support.

“We already have a team of area sales managers who are very proactive visiting our merchants and being their first point of contact – but as our business continues to grow, we have spotted a gap to introduce an additional layer of support,” she said.

“The closer we get to our merchants, and the more support we can provide to them to assist in their own sales, the better the win-win, as both businesses will benefit from increased sales. Because of their visibility, MSMs will become a key contact for merchants alongside our team of area sales managers. And of course our head office support teams are also on hand to offer different areas of expertise and merchant support too.”

‘Strikingly visible’ liveried vehicles have also been allocated as part of the expansion for the £57 million turnover firm.

Reflecting on all the recent developments, following the move from Sandtoft to the former Clugston Group HQ, as well as the senior appointments, Lavinia said: “Talasey is an exciting place to be right now. We have a growing team at different levels within the business that are all focused around a common goal of supporting our merchant customers – so they can increase sales of Talasey products.”
