Chief Inspector Simon Duffield said: “I know reports of this nature can, understandably, be concerning for those in the local area and I want to offer my reassurance that we always treat this type of call as a priority. Following enquiries, it was established the area was safe with no threat or risk to the public.
“A 17-year-old boy has since been released on police bail and our investigations into the matter are continuing. I would encourage anyone with any information, particularly CCTV or dashcam footage from the area at the time, who has not already spoken to us to please call our non-emergency 101 line quoting log 88 of 2 July.”
