The classic you won’t want to miss – return of free Humber Bridge car event for 2024

The Humber Bridge Classic Car Night is back for the first time this year.

The free family event takes over the car parks of the Humber Bridge estate, with hundreds of prized classic vehicles for people to view. A post on X by the Humber Bridge Board said: “This Friday, April 19, the @eytcc Classic Car Night returns to the Humber Bridge estate for the first time in 2024!

“Hundreds of classic cars will descend upon our car parks to be placed on display. It is a free event open for all to come along and view.”

The event, based around the southbound car park in Ferriby Road, Hessle, starts at 5pm and is set to finish by 9pm. It is being hosted by East Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club, a regional club for owners or enthusiasts of all types of motor vehicles that are 15 years or older.

The post said: “The Main Car Park will be open as normal to all members of the public throughout the day. Please note that it will become very busy from 4pm onwards.

“If you plan to attend the event as a spectator, please note that parking is extremely limited as the majority of the site is reserved for the display of the vintage vehicles. Please consider car sharing or attending on foot/bicycle if you are able, or using an alternative car park in the local area.”

Those who do use the car park are urged to ensure they keep to designated (outlined) parking bays only. The Southbound, Coach, and Hub car parks will be closed from 3.30pm on Friday.

Any vehicles still in the car parks during this time will still be able to leave, with stewards in place to open the exit gates. Drivers are asked to exercise caution when leaving as the car parks will be busy.

“You will also still be able to access the west footpath on foot/bicycle as normal from the country park – however, please stick to the designated footpaths as there will be a lot of movement from cars as they begin to arrive and leave,” the post said.
