Thief who stole £500 worth of perfume from Boots jailed – Grimsby court round-up

A thief who stole hundreds of pounds’ worth of clothes from Next and £500 worth of perfume from Boots, a fraudster and a whole host of offenders not complying with their court orders – it’s been another busy few days at Grimsby Magistrates’ Court.

While some cases were delayed to be tried at a later date, magistrates in Grimsby still did not hesitate in handing out a prison sentence and some hefty fines to offenders this week and last.

Here are nine offenders to appear in Grimsby Magistrates’ Court in recent days.

Paul White, 50, of Hindon Walk, Scunthorpe was sent to prison for 27 weeks after he admitted breaching the requirements of a community order by failing to attend multiple appointments. The order was handed to him in February for four counts of theft, in which he stole clothing worth just under £250 from Next and perfume worth £500 from Boots.

George Gray, 28, of Keddington Crescent, Louth pleaded guilty to keeping a vehicle which was unlicensed. He was fined £350, ordered to pay back the vehicle excise duty of £121.25 and ordered to pay costs of £85.

Joe Shah, 27, of Clare Avenue, Scunthorpe admitted failing to comply with the requirements of a community order by not attending unpaid work placements. He was originally handed the order after he committed fraud by false representation, in which he stated he was buying and hiring tools and building equipment for a company with a view to make monetary gain.

Terry Bowen, 38, of Davenport Drive, Cleethorpes was handed an amended 16-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, after committing a further offence whilst under a suspended sentence order for three counts of theft from a shop.

Michael Pullan, 42, of Duke Street, Grimsby admitted failing, without reasonable excuse, to comply with supervision requirements imposed upon him following his release from imprisonment, namely by failing to attend instructed office appointments. He was fined £50.

Adrian Wilkie, 37, of Queensway, Scunthorpe admitted failing, without reasonable excuse, to comply with supervision requirements imposed upon him following his release from imprisonment, namely by failing to attend appointments and not keeping in touch with his supervisor. He was fined £50.

Jamie Forbes, 46, of no fixed abode admitted failing, without reasonable excuse, to comply with supervision requirements imposed upon him following his release from imprisonment, namely by failing to attend a Post Sentence Supervision office appointment. He was fined £20.

Fabian Gardener, 25, of Harrington Street, Cleethorpes admitted breaching the requirements of a community order by failing to attend unpaid work appointments. He was fined £50.

Shane Wallace, 38, of Littlecoates Road, Grimsby admitted breaching the requirements of a community order by failing to keep in touch with his responsible officer. His community order was amended with new and varied requirements, including a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement.
