Peter laughs in hysterics over electrical appliance

Only Peter could turn a chat about household appliances into a laughter filled-risqué chat.

Back in July, Peter lost his legendary composure during a segment of BBC Look North. Alongside weatherman Paul Hudson, the pair ended up in fits of laughter.

Viewers had been asked at the time to send messages about the oldest appliances that they had in their home. While Peter was reading them out loud, one caught him by surprise.

Reading a description of an ancient vacuum cleaner, the letter read: “‘When we married in 1971, my grandmother gave us an Electrolux vacuum cleaner, which she says was older than my mother who was born in 1929.

“Near enough 100 years old! It still works, and is handy as it blows as well as sucks.”

Peter struggled to compose himself as he joked it was ‘dangerous.’ His followers over on Twitter thought it was brilliant.

One person wrote: “It made me laugh out loud! Perhaps it could be shown when the news is depressing, which is most days.“

Swimmers give Peter a taste of his own medicine

In September, Peter went down to the grand opening of Albert Avenue’s Lido in Hull.

The presenter was full of banter when he asked local swimmer Emma: ‘Do you work?’ She teasingly replied ‘Yeah, do you?’ before splashing him with water. Peter joked she was now banned from Look North for life.

But the fun didn’t end there. Peter got a final and full-on soaking from a youngster enjoying the nearby water-play area, who turned a water cannon on the presenter. Peter said: “I can’t believe that, I’ve got to get in the car.”

He was offered a towel, with the “banned” Emma telling him: “It’s out of lost property, that.”

Peter Levy meets ‘Sleeter Levy’

Back in August, Peter joined the likes of Elvis and James Bond as a play on his name was unveiled to be that given to a new gritter in East Yorkshire.

The names of the five new gritters in Hull included Elvis Spreadley, Melt’em John, Double Snow Seven and Snowy Tribbiani .. – and none other than Sleeter Levy.

Peter was delighted, saying: “It’s a fabulous honour, it really is. I absolutely love it. Eventually I am going to be able to drive one; at the moment all I am allowed to do is clean it.”
