Three taken to hospital after crash on A18 Mortal Ash Hill

Three people were injured in a serious crash on the A18 near Scunthorpe.

A Toyota and a black Volkswagen Polo were involved in the collision on Mortal Ash Hill, close to the Forest Pines Hotel. The three casualties were taken to hospital for injuries that are not thought to be life threatening.

Humberside Police closed the road for a number of hours following the crash, which happened at 7.30pm on Monday. Officers are now asking anyone with information or dashcam footage at the time of the incident to come forward.

It said: “Officers are appealing for witnesses after being called to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Mortal Ash Hill in Scunthorpe, at around 7.30pm yesterday evening (Monday 25 September).

“It is believed a black Volkswagen Polo and Toyota were in collision on the single-carriageway section near to Forest Pines Hotel. Three people were taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which are not thought to be life threatening at this time.

“The road was closed in both directions to allow emergency services to work safely and has now been reopened. We are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage from around the time the incident occurred, to please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 520 of September 25.”
