A TV production company is creating new jobs after opening a base in the North East on the back of growth within the region’s screen sector.
Newcastle has become home to the next studio for True North Post, a Leeds based specialist in post production which has worked on award-winning TV shows including Robson Green’s Weekend Escapes, David Jason’s Great British Inventions and Help! We Bought A Village.
The company, which has been operating for more than 20 years delivering thousands of hours of content for top global broadcasters in the world, has arrived in the city to take advantage of potential growth in the North East’s film and TV industry, coming as work is set to start on the new £475m Crown Works Studios in Sunderland and amid growing presence of development agency North East Screen.

True North Post is known throughout the industry for its post-production work, in which editing, visual effects, sound design, colour grading and rendering processes are completed. The company’s decision to open a Tyneside base has been described by industry and city leaders as one of the final pieces of the jigsaw puzzle for the North East screen sector.
True North Post, which counts BBC, MTV, Discovery, Channel 4 and Sky among its commissioning clients, will be based in Collingwood Buildings in the city and has already created a number of jobs, with more to follow. North East Screen and Invest Newcastle, part of NewcastleGateshead Initiative, have both supported the company’s decision to come to Newcastle, a decision it made based on the potential for future growth.
