People caught carrying knives in public places, violent offenders who assaulted others and a whole host of people caught driving whilst above the legal alcohol limit have appeared at Grimsby Magistrates’ Court in recent days.
While some cases were adjourned to be tried at a later date and others sent to Grimsby Crown Court, magistrates in Grimsby still handed out community orders, hefty fines and driving bans to offenders from across northern Lincolnshire.
Here are ten people who were sentenced by magistrates in Grimsby last week.

Kerry Wilson, 45, of Runswick Court, Grimsby pleaded guilty to the possession of a knife in a public place, to two counts of using threatening, insulting or abusive words or behaviour with intent to cause alarm or distress, to assault by beating and to driving whilst above the legal alcohol limit. She was disqualified from driving for 18 months and given a community order with the requirement to not consume any alcohol for 90 days.
Lewis Hardy, 20, of Fuller Street, Cleethorpes pleaded guilty to the possession of a bladed article, namely a pocket knife, in a public place, and to the possession of cannabis. He was given a community order and ordered to pay a £114 victim services surcharge and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
John Oliver, 43, of Buttermere Way, Grimsby pleaded guilty to one count of assault by beating. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £26 victim services surcharge.
Samantha Bakes, 31, of Phyllis Taylor Gardens, Grimsby pleaded guilty to one count of assault by beating. She was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £100 in compensation, £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £26 victim services surcharge.
Dayne Sparkes, 25, of Castleford Avenue, Grimsby pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of blood after having driven a vehicle and asked by police to do so. He was disqualified from driving for 19 months and fined £100.
Gavin Schofield, 39, of Wingate Road, Grimsby pleaded guilty to driving whilst above the legal alcohol limit and driving without insurance. He was disqualified from driving for 14 months, fined £120 and ordered to pay a £96 victim services surcharge and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Natasha Padgett, 33, of Southfield Road, Scunthorpe pleaded guilty to driving whilst above the legal alcohol limit. She was disqualified from driving for 18 months, fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £48 victim services surcharge.
Andrew Finn, 41, of no fixed abode pleaded guilty to the criminal damage of a window belonging to Marks & Spencer to the value of £2,000. He was ordered to pay £250 in compensation.
Gavin McGuire, 50, of Laceby Road, Grimsby pleaded guilty to driving whilst above the legal alcohol limit. He was disqualified from driving for 17 months, fined £350 and ordered to pay a £140 victim services surcharge and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Mollie Hinson, 22, of Bramble Way, Cleethorpes pleaded guilty to failing to stop a vehicle when required to do so by police. She was fined £133 and ordered to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £53 victim services surcharge.
