There has been a dramatic halt to the Indian summer after the Met Office issued a weather warning for rain.
The whole of Lincolnshire is covered by the yellow warning with those in the likes of Grimsby and Scunthorpe warned to expect “some flooding and disruption in places”.
The warning is in place until 1pm and the Met Office warns: “There will be spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer. Bus and train services will also probably be affected with journey times taking longer. Flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible.”
Coupled with the heavy rain is a dramatic fall in temperature. On Monday, many areas enjoyed temperatures into the balmy mid-20s but the likes of Grimsby will only reach a measly 15C.
While the warning is only until 1pm, the wet weather is set to continue throughout the day with no let up. The rain is set to stay put right through until 10pm.
The good news is it will be much drier on Wednesday and the sun will return. Temperatures will also increase with highs of 17C. Thursday will be cloudier but also warmer with highs of 20C. It will be a similar story on Friday but the rain could return in time for the weekend.
