What’s on in Grimsby and Cleethorpes this weekend 27-28 April

The weather might be miserable but that’s no reason to stay indoors all weekend.

With a variety of activities and events for children and grown-ups alike, there is always something going on in Grimsby and Cleethorpes. Perhaps you just want an easy day out, or maybe you are feeling confident and feel like trying something completely different.

From free activities to one-off events, there is something for everyone. But be warned – some of these events need to be booked in advance and tickets could sell out.

Cocktails, Quiz & Curry Night

AGRAH and Counting House have teamed up to provide an exciting new night in Cleethorpes. The poster says: “AGRAH and The Counting House introduce a Sea View Street special to celebrate years of neighbourly success that offers our loyal local-loving customers a fusion dining experience with the talented likes of AGRAH bestseller traditional curries to be served within its neighbouring premium cocktail bar with a selection of bestselling specially crafted cocktails as part of out in-house deals”.

Cleethorpes Records Fair

On Sunday, music lovers should check out Cleethorpes Records Fair which is being held at the Memorial Hall from 9am to 3pm. Entry is completely free.

Record dealers from all across the country are expected to come, with popular and rare vinyl on offer. If you know what you are looking for, perhaps you can thrift a bargain.

Pottery Workshop

Half-price tickets are currently available for a men’s mental health pottery workshop at the Caistor Arts and Heritage Centre. The two-part pottery workshops start on Sunday 28th April 2024, with the second one taking place on Sunday 12th May 2024, from 12.30pm – 3.30pm.

The listing for the event reads: “The workshop will be run by Amanda Lee from Little Acorn Pottery. Amanda is a very talented potter and you will be able to view her work in the gallery room during the workshop. She is very keen to run these workshops so that you too can experience the joy of creating your own art.”

Tickets are on sale until Saturday, April 27. .

The ‘Flying Sconesman’ experience

Forget the Flying Scotsman, Cleethorpes Light Railway has come up with a new deal that combines a cream tea with a scenic ride on a steam engines.

For £10, guests can get a return ticket, two scones with clotted cream and jam, and a cup of tea. The poster says: “All packaged and ready to go, this also includes a return journey on the train with no booking required! You can grab a Flying Sconesman at any time from Lakeside Station.”

Soft play at ‘Anything Goes’

Anything Goes in Lakeside, Kings Road, Cleethorpes, says the soft play and ball pool area is “proving very popular”. It is open daily for babies to children up to five years old.

Booking is essential to avoid disappointment and slots are 10am-11am, 11.30am-12.30pm, 1-2pm and 2.30-3.20pm. Find out more on its Facebook page.
