Wizu Workspace to launch sixth Leeds base after acquiring key city centre property

Wizu Workspace is set open its sixth base in Leeds after acquiring a city centre property.

The flexible workspace operator has snapped up 55 St Paul’s Street amid moves to create a new creative hub within Leeds’ business district. The company said the venture makes Wizu the largest independent operator of its kind in the city.

The building is set to undergo a major refurbishment to transform the interior and exterior of the building to come in line with the Wizu brand style. The space will be fitted out with modern amenities and once open will offer flexible terms and superfast internet connectivity.

Wizu will soon offer 250 workstations over three floors and CEO Tom Almas said it will be the ideal space for those requiring a larger floor, providing room for growth and collaboration.

Mr Almas said: “We’re thrilled to reveal that we’ll be launching yet another game-changing workspace in central Leeds to attract more leading businesses to the city. With the ongoing shift around hybrid working, businesses must offer more than just a space to work; they must provide an inspiring environment that not only attracts talent but also incentivises staff to work collaboratively from the office.

“55 St Paul’s Street has been designed with inspiration and flexibility in mind, exemplified by features such as our ‘hybrid-ready’ meeting rooms and high-tech video conferencing. Designed for creative minds, the new workspace will boast uplifting interiors, inspiring meeting rooms, and a vibrant co-working space tailored to bring out your A-game. Surrounded by artisan coffee shops, cafes, and after-work bars, it’s set to be a magnet for top-tier talent seeking an impressive work environment.”

Leeds commercial surveyor WSB Property Consultants represented Wizu Workspace on the acquisition and Sanderson Weatherall acted on behalf of Freshwater Group. Wizu now has bases across the North and Scotland, with workspaces in Glasgow, Leeds, Sheffield, Harrogate, Bradford and Newcastle.

The business launched its most recent base last October, in Newcastle’s Portland House, as part of its UK expansion plans.
