Grimsby’s Central Hall is set to be transformed into a 4D cinema as it prepares to host a Die Hard-themed Christmas party.
Jamie Roberts, owner of Cineshow, is looking to celebrate the festive period in a less conventional way by offering people the chance to watch the classic 1988 action blockbuster that forever leaves viewers divided on whether or not it’s a Christmas film. The event will involve a number of singers throughout the night with a DJ playing a set to officially mark the end.
Alongside the entertainment, guests will have a chance to grab a drink on arrival and can even become VIPs to give them special access and a premium experience. For Jamie, it’s about bringing something different to Grimsby at a popular time of the year.

He said: “We’ve decided to go for a typical Christmas party, but made it a bit different by going with the Die Hard theme. We also wanted to change it up a little from the other productions that we’ve done at the Central Hall so it won’t be a fully immersive experience like Back To The Future or The Shining.”
He added: “We’ll be having a number of singers on throughout the night including a crooner who will be singing classic Christmas songs and there will even be someone from the film itself making a guest appearance.”
Aside from the entertainment, the main event will consist of guests settling down to watch the Bruce Willis-starring classic. However, it won’t be as straight forward as you might think. Throughout the film, Jamie and the team have planned a number of special effects to transport people to the scene they’re watching to make the event even more exciting.
After the film, the entertainment resumes with house band the Yippee Ki-Yays playing a number of 80s classics before a DJ set finishes off the night. With so much planning, Jamie is looking forward to welcoming people in on Saturday, December 23.
“The doors open at 6.45pm and the show starts from 7pm and we can’t wait to show people what we’ve done,” Jamie said. “I’m really excited about it and I’m looking forward to putting something different on. We’ve actively come up with new ways of hosting these events to make people feel like it’s something totally new.”
He added: “The team have done so well and I think it’ll be a really cool night. Thankfully, we’ve ben doing this for a while now so it’s a bit like a well-oiled machine at this point which has made it easier to pull everything together.
“Even though it’s more complex, we’ve got people working on different elements to make sure it’s right.” To get your ticket, head to the Cineshow website
